About the Role

Our client, a leading architectural firm with a specialization in healthcare facilities, is seeking an experienced Lead Healthcare Architect for their Klerksdorp, North West office. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design process for healthcare projects, from conceptualization through to construction administration.
• Develop functional layouts and space plans optimized for clinical workflows, patient experience, and staff efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with healthcare clients, medical specialists, engineers, and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant healthcare building codes, standards (e.g., National Health Act regulations), and infection control guidelines.
• Manage project teams, timelines, and budgets effectively.
• Research and specify appropriate materials and systems for healthcare environments.
• Conduct site analyses and feasibility studies for new healthcare facilities or expansions.
• Prepare detailed design documentation, presentations, and reports.
• Mentor and guide junior architects involved in healthcare projects.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Architecture with a specialization in Healthcare Design.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in architectural practice, with at least 5 years specifically focused on healthcare projects.
• Proven experience in leading the design of hospitals, clinics, or specialized medical facilities.
• In-depth knowledge of healthcare planning principles, medical equipment integration, and infection control protocols.
