Eighty20 is seeking a dynamic Lead Full Stack Developer to spearhead our e‑commerce platform initiatives in Cape Town. You will architect, develop, and maintain high‑performing web applications while guiding a skilled team of developers from concept to deployment.

The role requires 7+ years in full‑stack development with at least 2 years in a lead position, expertise in modern front‑end and back‑end tech, and strong leadership and communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science or software engineering (Master's or Bachelor's).
• 7+ years in full‑stack development with at least 2 years in a lead/senior role.
• Proven expertise in front-end (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React/Angular/Vue.js) and back-end (Node.js, Python/Django, Java/Spring).
• Experience designing and managing relational (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases; microservices and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop scalable full‑stack web applications for the core e‑commerce platform.
• Lead and mentor a team of front-end and back-end developers; foster technical excellence.
• Implement responsive UIs with modern front-end frameworks and integrate with backend services.
• Develop and optimize RESTful APIs and database schemas for performance and scalability.
• Oversee the full SDLC: requirements, design, coding, testing, deployment, maintenance.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
