Job summary

Placements24 currently seeks a Food Production Supervisor near Mahikeng, North West. You will oversee daily production lines, ensure safety and quality, coach staff, and drive efficiency within a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in food production, strong leadership, and proficiency in MS Office. A Food Technology qualification is advantageous. The role offers provident fund and bonus potential in a key agribusiness hub.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a food production or manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of food processing techniques, equipment and safety regulations.
• Experience with quality control systems and procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• A qualification in Food Technology or a related field is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily production activities on the food processing lines.
• Ensure adherence to food safety, quality, and hygiene standards (HACCP, GMP).
• Train, mentor, and manage production staff, fostering a productive and safe work environment.
• Monitor production output and efficiency, optimizing workflow and minimizing downtime.
• Conduct quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
• Maintain accurate production records and reports.
• Ensure equipment is operated safely and maintained in good working order.
• Collaborate with QA to resolve production-related issues.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the production department.
