Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Environmental Services Supervisor to oversee cleaning operations at client sites in Midrand, Gauteng. You will manage a team of cleaners, enforce health and safety standards, and coordinate with facility managers to meet client expectations.

The role requires at least 5 years in supervision within cleaning/sanitation, strong leadership, and knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a supervisory role within the cleaning/sanitation industry.
• Proven experience in leading and motivating a cleaning team.
• In-depth knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment and best practices.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations in cleaning operations.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications for reporting and inventory management.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within Midrand area.
• Higher certificate or diploma in Facilities Management is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of the cleaning staff and ensure schedule adherence.
• Conduct regular inspections and address hygiene issues promptly.
• Develop and implement cleaning plans meeting industry standards.
• Train staff on cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and equipment use.
• Manage inventory of supplies and equipment; ensure stock levels and storage.
• Monitor performance, provide feedback, and conduct appraisals.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Liaise with clients and facility managers to address concerns and ensure satisfaction.
• Investigate and resolve cleaning-related complaints or incidents.
• Maintain records of cleaning activities, staff attendance, and supply usage.
