Job summary

Greys Recruitment seeks a licensed Solar Electrician in South Africa to install, commission and maintain solar PV systems. You read electrical drawings and install racking, inverters, batteries and monitoring systems.

Role involves fault-finding, firmware updates, and ensuring safety/compliance with SANS standards. You will coordinate with project teams to hit timelines and budgets while delivering professional customer service.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) is a minimum requirement.
• QCTO Red Seal Electrician Certification is required.
• Valid Wireman's Licence is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and maintain solar PV systems.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and project plans.
• Install solar racking, inverters, batteries, and monitoring systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system faults and operational issues.
• Conduct inverter firmware updates and system testing.
• Ensure installations comply with SANS standards and safety regulations.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• QCTO Red Seal Electrician Certification
• Valid Wireman's Licence (Non-negotiable)
• Minimum 3 years' solar installation experience (roof and ground-mounted systems)
• Experience with micro and string inverters
• Experience setting up and monitoring solar systems
• Valid driver's licence
• Computer literacy (MS Office)

Advantageous Qualifications

• National Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
• AREP/SAPVIA PV Green Card Certification

Key Responsibilities
