Placements24 is assisting a prominent EPC contractor in recruiting a Senior Electrical Project Engineer for Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. You will oversee electrical design and project execution from planning through handover, leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating with clients and vendors.

The ideal candidate holds a BEng in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years in electrical engineering, including 4+ years in project engineering/PM roles in industrial settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
• 8+ years in electrical engineering with 4+ years in a project engineering/PM role.
• Experience managing large-scale electrical infrastructure: power distribution, HV, control automation.

Responsibilities

• Manage electrical engineering aspects of industrial infrastructure projects across lifecycle.
• Develop detailed project plans, scopes, budgets, and schedules for electrical components.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, codes and regulations.
• Coordinate with design, procurement and construction teams for efficient execution.
• Manage electrical contractors and vendors, monitor performance and adherence to specs.
• Conduct site inspections and progress reviews for quality and safety.
• Identify and mitigate risks, address technical challenges and issues.
• Facilitate communication among clients, engineering teams and regulators.
• Prepare status reports, technical docs, and handover packages.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of PM processes and standards.
