About the Role

Our client, a prominent developer of industrial facilities and infrastructure, is seeking a Lead Electrical Infrastructure Engineer to manage and oversee significant electrical projects in Benoni, Gauteng. This leadership role is responsible for the conceptualization, design, implementation, and maintenance of robust electrical infrastructure that supports large-scale industrial operations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in power distribution systems, substations, and utility connections, along with strong project management and team leadership capabilities. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our electrical networks, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of electrical infrastructure projects, including high and medium voltage distribution systems.
• Oversee the planning and execution of substation upgrades and new installations.
• Manage electrical system reliability studies, including load forecasting and capacity planning.
• Develop and implement strategies for grid interconnection and power quality management.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources for electrical infrastructure works.
• Supervise and mentor a team of electrical engineers and technicians.
• Liaise with utility companies, regulatory bodies, and external consultants.
• Develop and maintain asset management plans for electrical infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical infrastructure engineering, with a focus on power systems.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale electrical infrastructure projects.
• In-depth knowledge of high and medium voltage systems, switchgear, transformers, and protection schemes.
• Strong understanding of grid codes and utility interconnection requirements.
• Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills.
• Experience with project financing and contract negotiation is advantageous.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Pr. Eng registration required.
• Experience in industrial power system design and operation is essential.
