Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive drilling programs, including well design, casing, and cementing strategies.

• Optimize drilling parameters to enhance rate of penetration (ROP) and minimize non-productive time (NPT).
• Prepare detailed drilling cost estimates and track expenditures against budget.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations.
• Mentor and supervise junior drilling engineers and rig personnel.
• Collaborate closely with reservoir, geoscients, and completions engineers to achieve project goals.
• Implement and promote innovative drilling technologies and techniques.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in drilling engineering, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex onshore and/or offshore drilling operations.
• In-depth knowledge of drilling fluids, well control principles, and cementing technology.
• Proficiency in drilling simulation software (e.g., WellPlan, StressCheck) and project management tools.
• Strong understanding of geological data interpretation for drilling operations.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and make critical decisions in challenging situations.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to remote field locations as required.
• Experience with horizontal drilling and unconventional resource plays is a significant advantage.
