Job summary

Greys Recruitment is seeking a Dispatch Supervisor in South Africa to lead dispatch staff and drivers, plan routes and schedules, and ensure on-time deliveries of products including fragile materials.

Qualifications

• Experience leading dispatch staff and drivers.
• Strong planning, scheduling and routing abilities.
• Experience with dispatch in manufacturing.
• Proficient with purchase orders, delivery notes and dispatch docs.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and manage dispatch staff and drivers.
• Allocate tasks and monitor productivity to meet targets.
• Coordinate delivery schedules and routes; dispatch on time.
• Plan dispatch activities with production schedules.
• Prioritise urgent orders and manage competing deadlines.
• Ensure safe handling and transportation of fragile materials.
• Verify purchase orders, delivery notes and dispatch docs.
• Confirm correct products and quantities delivered.
• Liaise with production, drivers, customers and management.
• Resolve delays, loading issues, damaged goods and complaints.
• Identify operational challenges and implement practical solutions.
• Maintain accurate dispatch records and use Excel to track deliveries.
• Keep the dispatch area organized, safe and productive.
