Placements24 is seeking a visionary Lead DevOps Engineer to drive scalable cloud infrastructure and robust deployment pipelines for a rapidly expanding fintech startup. This fully remote role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere in the world, including Cape Town, and provides the autonomy to architect solutions and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a DevOps or SRE role, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior capacity.
• Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Extensive experience with CI/CD tools and practices.
• Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
• Solid understanding of networking concepts and security principles.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, distributed team environment.

Responsibilities

• Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Automate operational tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Ensure system security by implementing security best practices and conducting regular vulnerability assessments.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
