Job summary

Placements24 in Port Elizabeth is seeking a hands-on Construction Foreman to supervise civil works, leading a crew and coordinating daily activities to ensure work aligns with plans and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have proven supervisory experience in civil construction, the ability to read blueprints, and strong leadership and communication skills to motivate the team while delivering quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Construction Foreman or similar supervisory role in civil works.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate a team.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise the daily activities of the construction crew, assigning tasks and monitoring progress.
• Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
• Operate and manage construction equipment safely and efficiently.
• Conduct daily safety briefings and enforce all site safety protocols to minimize accidents.
• Maintain a clean and organized work site, managing materials and equipment effectively.
• Report on daily progress, including labor, materials, and equipment used, to the site supervisor or project manager.
• Inspect work in progress to ensure it meets quality standards and addresses any issues that arise.
