Placements24 is seeking a Cleaning Operations Supervisor to oversee day-to-day cleaning services at a large commercial facility in Tembisa, Gauteng. The role demands strong leadership to coordinate staff, schedules, and cleaning plans while upholding hygiene and safety standards.

You will supervise a team, manage supplies, conduct quality checks, and collaborate with other departments to support events and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience in cleaning or facilities management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team of cleaning personnel.
• Thorough knowledge of cleaning chemicals, materials, and equipment.
• Understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards relevant to cleaning operations.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including potential early mornings or late evenings.
• Must be physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks.
• Previous experience in a large-scale commercial environment is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications for reporting and inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise a team of cleaning staff, ensuring efficient task allocation and performance monitoring.
• Develop and implement operational cleaning plans and schedules for various zones within the facility.
• Conduct regular quality checks and inspections to ensure compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
• Manage the procurement, storage, and responsible use of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Train new staff members on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and the correct use of equipment.
• Address and resolve any cleaning-related issues or complaints promptly and professionally.
• Maintain records related to staff attendance, task completion, supply usage, and incident reports.
• Ensure all cleaning activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate cleaning efforts during special events or maintenance periods.
