Placements24 in Cape Town is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to lead design and delivery of major infrastructure projects across the Western Cape. The role is based in our Cape Town office with a hybrid model to balance site visits and in-person collaboration.

The candidate should have a Civil Engineering degree, Pr. Eng with ECSA, 7+ years of design and project management experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and Civil Designer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr. Eng.
• Minimum 7 years of post-graduate experience in civil engineering design and project management.
• Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Willingness to travel within Western Cape and holds a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of civil engineering projects across roads, bridges, drainage, and water infrastructure.
• Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and impact assessments.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure delivery on time and within budget.
• Supervise and mentor junior civil engineers and technical staff.
• Liaise with clients, authorities, and stakeholders to meet project objectives.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
• Review and approve engineering designs and calculations.
• Conduct site inspections and quality control during construction phases.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and standards.
