Placements24 in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal, is seeking a dynamic Childcare Supervisor and Activity Coordinator to lead a team, oversee daily programs for children aged 1 to 5, and ensure a safe, nurturing learning environment.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a solid understanding of early childhood development; duties include curriculum planning, staff supervision, parent communication, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in childcare with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Qualifcation in Early Childhood Development, Education or related field.
• Strong leadership, management, and team-building skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
• First Aid and CPR certification and knowledge of child safety regulations.

Responsabilités

• Supervise and manage a team of childcare practitioners, providing guidance and support.
• Develop, implement, and oversee age-appropriate curriculum and activity plans.
• Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of all children in the facility.
• Conduct regular safety checks and ensure compliance with health regulations.
• Manage daily operations, including scheduling, staff allocation, and resource management.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child’s progress and facility updates.
• Organize special events, parent-teacher meetings and community outreach programs.
• Maintain accurate records, including attendance, incident reports, and children’s developmental progress.
• Train and mentor new staff members.
• Foster a positive and collaborative team environment within the Richards Bay center.
