Placements24 is seeking a visionary Lead Blockchain Engineer to steer the technical direction of a novel decentralized social media platform. This fully remote leadership role guides architecture, mentoring, and implementation of core blockchain technologies across a distributed team.

You will shape smart contracts, dApps, and infra, collaborating with product and design to meet ambitious goals while upholding security and performance standards.

Qualificações

• 7+ years in software engineering with at least 4 years in blockchain.
• Experience leading engineering teams and architecting blockchain solutions.
• Strong knowledge of consensus mechanisms and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Solidity and dApp architecture.
• Backend experience with Go, Rust, or Node.js.
• Experience with cloud infra and containerization (AWS/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent remote communication and collaboration skills.

About the Role

Our client is a groundbreaking startup that is building a novel decentralized social media platform. We are seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Blockchain Engineer to join our fully remote team. This is a leadership position where you will guide the technical direction of our blockchain infrastructure, mentor junior engineers, and play a key role in architecting and implementing our core decentralized technologies. Based remotely but supporting operations relevant to Mahikeng, North West, ZA , you will be instrumental in bringing our unique vision to life. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of our core blockchain infrastructure and protocols.
• Architect scalable and secure decentralized applications (dApps) and smart contracts.
• Mentor and guide a team of blockchain developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
• Collaborate with product management and design teams to translate requirements into technical specifications.
• Oversee the deployment and maintenance of blockchain networks, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Conduct code reviews, establish coding standards, and ensure adherence to best practices in security and efficiency.
• Evaluate and integrate new blockchain technologies and tools to improve our platform.

Requirements

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 4 years focused on blockchain development.
• Proven experience in leading engineering teams and architecting complex blockchain solutions.
• Deep understanding of various blockchain technologies, consensus mechanisms, and distributed systems.
• Expertise in smart contract development (e.g., Solidity) and dApp architecture.
• Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Go, Rust, or Node.js.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, especially in a remote setting.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
• Experience with decentralized identity, data privacy, or censorship-resistant technologies is a significant plus.
