Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to head the design and development of automotive mechanical systems in Centurion, Gauteng. You will lead a team through concept, design, prototyping, testing and production, ensuring technical excellence, timelines and budgets.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, and strong CAD/CFD/FEA proficiency.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 10+ years of engineering experience, with 3+ years in lead/supervisory roles
• Strong knowledge of automotive mechanical systems and design
• Proficiency in CAD and simulation tools (CATIA, NX, FEA, CFD)

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers in automotive mechanical systems design and development.
• Oversee the product development lifecycle from concept to production and validation.
• Develop and manage project plans, resources, and budgets to ensure on-time delivery.
• Conduct advanced engineering analyses (FEA/CFD) and apply design standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated system designs.
