Placements24 in Durban is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to spearhead the design and development of automotive components, leading a team of engineers and guiding products from concept to mass production in a hybrid work setup.

You will oversee CAD/CAE work (CATIA/SolidWorks, FEA/CFD), ensure ISO/TS 16949 standards, collaborate with R&D, manufacturing and quality, and drive timely delivery with budgets and resources.

Qualificações

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years' progressive experience in mechanical design for automotive components.
• Proven leadership of engineering teams and cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficiency in CATIA/SolidWorks and simulation tools (FEA/CFD).
• Strong knowledge of automotive design standards and DFM/DFA principles.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers in automotive design.
• Oversee concept, design, validation, and mass production support.
• Utilize CAD/CAE tools for design, simulation, and optimization.
• Ensure conformance to ISO/TS 16949 and customer specifications.
