Job summary

Placements24 in Cape Town is seeking a Lead Athletic Performance Coach to design and oversee elite training programs for professional athletes. You will mentor junior coaches and contribute to performance strategy, ensuring peak condition for competition in the demanding Western Cape environment.

You will lead training, assessments, and education on techniques, nutrition, and recovery, while staying current with sports science and collaborating with multidisciplinary staff.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Exercise Science, Sports Physiology, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of elite/pro level coaching experience.
• CSCS or NSCA certification.
• In-depth knowledge of biomechanics and strength and conditioning principles.
• Strong leadership, communication, and motivational abilities.
• Experience with performance tracking technology and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee individualized and group athletic performance training programs.
• Conduct athlete assessments to identify strengths, weaknesses, and development areas.
• Educate athletes on training techniques, nutrition, and recovery strategies to optimize performance and reduce injury risk.
• Stay current with research and advancements in sports science and performance training.
• Mentor and supervise assistant coaches, providing guidance and development.
• Collaborate with sports psychologists, physiotherapists, and medical staff for a holistic approach.
