Placements24 seeks a Senior Architect to lead large urban development projects in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. You will drive concepts through design, documentation and construction, mentoring teams and coordinating with clients, consultants and contractors to meet demanding timelines and budgets.

The role emphasizes sustainable design, regulatory compliance, and a strong portfolio in commercial and residential schemes.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch).
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in architectural design with urban development projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong knowledge of SA building regulations, materials and construction methods.
• Excellent leadership and client relationship management skills.
• SAIA registration or relevant body desired.
• Experience in the Nelspruit/Mpumalanga region is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute architectural designs for large urban development projects.
• Lead and mentor junior architectural staff and project teams.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors and stakeholders to define scope and deliverables.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications and construction documents.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure design intent.
• Manage timelines, budgets and resources for successful delivery.
• Research and implement innovative building materials and sustainable strategies.
• Present concepts and proposals to clients and stakeholders.
