Job summary

Department of Health at Jubilee District Hospital is seeking a Laundry Attendant to support linen distribution, collection and packing across wards. The role requires Grade 10-12 or NQF 3-5, good verbal communication, teamwork, and willingness to work shifts and overtime.

Experience in laundry is advantageous. The incumbent will assist with loading/unloading, stocktakes, and coordination with service providers to ensure clean linen delivery.

Qualifications

• Grade 10-12 or equivalent NQF level 3-5, hospital environment is preferred.
• Experience in laundry is an advantage.
• Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Distribute and collect linen to wards.
• Sluicing of soiled linen.
• Pack dirty linen into bags and load onto truck for washing.
• Unload and unpack clean linen bags from service provider.
• Perform stocktakes quarterly.
• Work overtime and extra hours when required.
• Be willing to go the extra mile.

Job description

Requirements :

• Grade 10-12 or equivalent NQF level 3-5, hospital environment, and laundry experience will be added advantage. Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Be able to work in a team. Be able to work shifts when required.

Duties :

• Distribution and collection of linen to the wards. Sluicing of soiled bloodied linen. Packing dirty linen into laundry bags and loading them into the truck to be sent to Masakhane for washing. Offloading and unpacking of clean linen bags from the service provider. Willingness to work more hours and overtime. Perform a stocktake every quarter. Willingness to give extra mile when needed.
