Job summary

The Globevest Group's client, a well-established label printing company, seeks a skilled Artwork DTP Operator to join their Germiston team. The role centers on preparing print-ready artwork for label production across digital and flexographic presses within a small, collaborative artwork team.

You will work with WS 6800 Digital Indigo Press, perform typesetting, colour separations, and proofs, and ensure artwork meets print specifications with high accuracy.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 educational requirement.
• Relevant tertiary qualification preferred.
• Experience with WS 6800 Digital Indigo Press is advantageous.
• Background in label printing or packaging.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up print-ready files for production on a WS 6800 Digital Indigo Press.
• Perform typesetting, layout adjustments, and artwork corrections, trapping, bleed, colour separations.
• Make additions and changes to client-supplied artwork files.
• Generate and send electronic proofs to clients.
• Print and check physical proofs for accuracy.
• Colour management.
• Carry out imposition and create templates for digital print jobs.
• Ensure all artwork meets required print specifications and quality standards.
• Occasional design work when required.
