Job summary

Time Personnel is seeking a Junior DTP Operator in Cape Town to join our print and advertising client’s team. The role requires proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Illustrator and Photoshop, with a solid understanding of DTP workflows and flexographic prepress.

The candidate should have a Matric and a DTP qualification, plus at least one year of prepress or DTP experience. You will prepare artwork for label production, digital signage, and large-format printing while maintaining file integrity

Qualifications

• Matric with a DTP qualification or certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a prepress or DTP environment.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, with strong working knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Good understanding of DTP software and prepress workflows.
• Knowledge of digital printing processes and print file preparation.
• Flexographic prepress experience is advantageous.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare electronic artwork and production files for flexographic plate and cutter manufacturing for label production.
• Prepare print-ready and cut files for digital signage and large-format printing equipment.
• Produce artwork and print files for internal printing and publishing requirements.
• Prepare, amend, and proof client artwork for production using both digital and flexographic printing processes.
• Create, update, and maintain customer artwork and design files.
• Ensure artwork complies with technical specifications, print standards, and customer requirements.
• Perform preflight checks and make necessary artwork corrections before production.
• Provide technical support and assist machine operators with troubleshooting related to artwork and print files.
• Maintain accurate file management and version control for customer artwork.
• Work closely with production and sales teams to ensure quality standards and delivery deadlines are achieved.
