Job summary

Time Personnel is seeking a Junior DTP Operator in Cape Town to join our print and advertising client’s team. The role requires proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Illustrator and Photoshop, with a solid understanding of DTP workflows and flexographic prepress.

The candidate should have a Matric and a DTP qualification, plus at least one year of prepress or DTP experience. You will prepare artwork for label production, digital signage, and large-format printing while maintaining file integrity

Qualifications

Matric with a DTP qualification or certification.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a prepress or DTP environment.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, with strong working knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop.
Good understanding of DTP software and prepress workflows.
Knowledge of digital printing processes and print file preparation.
Flexographic prepress experience is advantageous.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.

Responsibilities

Prepare electronic artwork and production files for flexographic plate and cutter manufacturing for label production.
Prepare print-ready and cut files for digital signage and large-format printing equipment.
Produce artwork and print files for internal printing and publishing requirements.
Prepare, amend, and proof client artwork for production using both digital and flexographic printing processes.
Create, update, and maintain customer artwork and design files.
Ensure artwork complies with technical specifications, print standards, and customer requirements.
Perform preflight checks and make necessary artwork corrections before production.
Provide technical support and assist machine operators with troubleshooting related to artwork and print files.
Maintain accurate file management and version control for customer artwork.
Work closely with production and sales teams to ensure quality standards and delivery deadlines are achieved.
