Job summary

RPO Recruitment's client in Johannesburg seeks a Junior Technical Assistant (Solar PV) to support design to costing processes. You will prepare high-level Bills of Quantities, interpret PV designs and assist with site inspections, with occasional travel to project sites.

Ideal candidates are studying Electrical Engineering or Solar PV qualifications, have hands-on with OpenSolar, PVsyst or HelioScope, and possess strong administrative and analytical skills. Office-based role with field exposure.

Qualifications

• Studying towards an Electrical Engineering qualification or Solar PV qualification.
• Experience using Open Solar, PVsyst and/or HelioScope.
• Good understanding of Solar PV system design and technical costing.
• Ability to interpret PV designs and convert them into accurate BoQs.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
• Own reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s licence.
• Solar PV certificates and training are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Good understanding of Solar PV system design, technical costing and Bills of Quantities
• Ability to interpret PV designs and convert them into accurate BoQs.
• Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Own reliable vehicle and a valid driver's licence (essential).
• Relevant Solar PV certificates, training and achievements will be advantageous.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
• Passionate about renewable energy and eager to develop technically.
• Strong work ethic with excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Comfortable working primarily from the office, with occasional travel to project sites.

Benefits:

Salary: R180K-R216K CTC per annum
