Job description

Our client in the Renewable Energy industry is currently looking for a Solar Design Engineer, in Centurion, Pretoria.

Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for conducting site surveys for capacity analysis, shadow analysis and plant designing.
2. Complete system designs for PV projects including site plans, mechanical racking and attachment plans, single-line electrical drawings, specification of BOS location and interconnection details and labelling.
3. Preparing PV layouts, SLD, BOM preparation, 3D project modelling, Structure fabrication drawings & RFQ preparation.
4. Doing AC & DC cable sizing, earthing calculation, PV system Reports, string configurations.
5. Tender technical specifications and abstracting BOM from that.
6. Preparation of Costing as per BOM.
7. Designing of Off-grid solar PV system for remote locations.
8. Site Execution and Commissioning.
9. Preparing 3D design of Site.
10. Preparing Structure Drawing Using Auto CAD.
11. Experience in storage and Hybrid Solar system design experience is mandatory.

Requirements:

1. Minimum of 5 years of solar design experience within commercial sector.
2. A Degree in Mechanical or Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
3. Knowledge of Solar Lab, PV Syst, or AutoCad software.
4. Knowledge of photovoltaic systems, NEC requirements, construction practices.
5. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
6. Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
7. Valid driver's license.

Remuneration:

1. R60 000 - R70 000 per month.
