Placements24 seeks a Junior Process Design Engineer in Paarl to join our technical team. You will work on process systems and equipment design under experienced engineers in a collaborative office setting.

The role focuses on developing PFDs/P&IDs, basic process calculations, and supporting equipment selection, with training and mentorship provided for career growth in process design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Basic understanding of chemical process principles and unit operations.
• Familiarity with process simulation software (Aspen HYSYS, CHEMCAD) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing PFDs and P&IDs.
• Perform basic mass and energy balances, fluid flow, and heat transfer calculations.
• Support selection and specification of pumps, heat exchangers, and reactors.
• Contribute to technical reports and design documentation.
• Participate in design reviews and hazard studies.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines for integrated designs.
