Job summary

EnableSA Recruitment seeks a Junior Analyst Trader for its Paarl, Western Cape team. You will prepare market updates, analyze trading data, and identify opportunities while executing trades per approved mandates. The role emphasizes accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting within a dynamic trading environment.

The candidate should have Grade 12, a BCom in Finance or Economics preferred, and familiarity with Excel and Bloomberg. Experience in banking or FX operations is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 is required.
• BCom Finance or Economics preferred.
• Experience in banking, treasury, dealing desk, or FX operations.
• Basic understanding of global/local financial markets, FX and money markets.
• Awareness of macroeconomic drivers and currency impacts.
• Foundational trading concepts including order types and settlement.
• AML awareness and FAIS/RE5 compliance.
• Excel proficiency and exposure to Bloomberg/Reuters.
• Experience preparing structured trade reports and reconciliations.
• Cross-border payments, SWIFT, and settlement timelines.
• MS Office proficiency; familiarity with trading/treasury systems.
• RE5 FAIS compliance is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute daily and weekly market updates.
• Analyze market, portfolio, and trading data for reporting.
• Monitor market developments and identify trading opportunities.
• Execute trades per approved mandates and strategies.
• Process trade instructions within agreed turnaround times.
• Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and controls.
• Prepare and submit trade, portfolio, and performance reports.
• Maintain complete trade records and documentation.
• Oversee trade settlements for timely/accurate settlement.
• Investigate and resolve settlement discrepancies and exceptions.
• Respond to client, bank, custodian, and internal queries.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and counterparties.
• Escalate issues and proactively manage risk.
• Continue learning through training and certifications.
• Stay informed on financial products and market developments.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and process improvements.
