Syspro in Johannesburg is seeking a Junior Kubernetes Architect to support design, implementation, and daily operations of the Kubernetes platform under guidance from the Senior Architect. The role develops technical depth in container orchestration, cloud infrastructure, and AI-assisted platform tooling, contributing to a reliable, scalable multitenancy environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in CS/IT or equivalent.
• 1–3 years in cloud infra, DevOps or IT operations.
• Basic hands-on Kubernetes exposure in a professional context.
• Familiarity with Linux administration and CLI tooling.
• Internship or open-source Kubernetes/Docker experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist design/implementation of Kubernetes cluster configurations and deployments.
• Support day-to-day operations, upgrades, patching and monitoring for uptime.
• Implement RBAC, quotas and network policies per standards.
• Develop IaC assets including Helm charts and Terraform modules.
• Participate in incident response and troubleshooting with runbooks.
• Apply AI-assisted tooling for cluster management under guidance.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation.
