Job summary

Johnson Controls in Cape Town seeks an HVAC service support technician to assist senior technicians with maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical HVAC systems at customer sites. You will document activities and parts usage, maintain safety and quality standards, and communicate professionally during visits.

Strong interest in HVAC, a Matric certificate, and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Matric certificate (minimum) and interest in HVAC field.
• Ability to learn quickly and follow technical instructions.
• Willingness to travel within Cape Town and hold a valid driver's license.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience in HVAC, refrigeration, or mechanical systems is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support HVAC service team in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on customer sites in Cape Town.
• Assist senior technicians during service visits and on-site inspections.
• Help diagnose system issues and contribute to reliable performance of Johnson Controls’ HVAC equipment.
• Document service activities, findings, and parts usage according to Johnson Controls standards.
• Follow safety procedures, compliance requirements, and quality guidelines.
• Communicate clearly with customers during site visits.
• Build technical capability through training, mentoring, and hands-on field experience.
