Job summary

Rest Easy is seeking a Junior Operations Assistant to support day-to-day operations for property management and hospitality in the Cape Town area.

You'll work with the Operations Manager and Senior Property Manager to ensure smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences, coordinating tasks, scheduling shifts for housekeepers, and liaising with guests and owners across platforms like Slack and Reservations.

Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12; a hospitality-related qualification is a plus.
• Previous experience in property management or hospitality is advantageous but not required.
• Must reside within 15km of the Atlantic Seaboard or Cape Town CBD.
• Strong interest in self-catering apartments or Airbnb operations.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
• Friendly, proactive attitude and a strong problem-solving mindset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with Slack or similar team communication tools.
• Comfortable with technology and open to learning new systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in tracking and assigning daily tasks to the maintenance team
• Schedule and allocate shifts and tasks for housekeepers
• Plan and coordinate daily operational activities across departments
• Follow up on work orders to ensure timely and efficient completion
• Act as a communication bridge between internal teams, vendors, and suppliers
• Communicate effectively through internal platforms, especially Slack
• Schedule services and site visits with external providers
• Liaise with guests or property owners as needed
• Work closely with the Reservations Department to ensure seamless communication and support daily booking requirements
• Help maintain vendor relationships by requesting quotes and scheduling services
• Support with managing our platforms (Airbnb, Boom, and Hostaway)
• Help with general office duties, including filing, data entry, and scheduling
