Job summary

Project A Recruitment is seeking a driven freight forwarding professional to move from Operations into Sales in Durban. The role focuses on growing the client base and selling a range of clearing, forwarding and logistics solutions to new and existing clients.

You will identify opportunities, build relationships and develop new business with a strong emphasis on sales acumen and commercial awareness. A driver’s licence and own vehicle are preferred for field visits.

Qualifications

• Experience in Freight Forwarding / Clearing & Forwarding is essential.
• Transition from Operations to Sales is welcomed and encouraged.
• Strong understanding of international freight, customs and logistics.
• Strong sales acumen and commercial awareness.
• Confident, outgoing and client-focused.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Cold calling, networking, and business development.
• Meet with clients to understand their freight and logistics requirements.
• Identify cross-sell opportunities and grow existing accounts.
• Prepare proposals and negotiate with clients.
• Coordinate with Operations for smooth handover of new business.
• Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and meet targets.
• Develop a deep understanding of clients’ supply chain requirements and provide suitable solutions.
