M-Sure, part of the Motus Group, is seeking a qualified Junior Financial Manager to join a dynamic Finance Team in Gauteng. The role reports to the Finance Manager and drives key accounting, budgeting, reporting and control activities to support business performance.

You will lead financial processes, consolidate reports, engage with operations, and implement improvements across policies and systems while maintaining IFRS compliance.

Formación

• Relative Business bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Experience with ERP system migration (preferable).
• Proven experience as a finance manager.
• Strong operational finance experience.
• Strong people management experience.

Responsabilidades

• All financial matters, including budget development, planning & reporting, managing accounts, and financial reporting.
• Overseeing operational matters to ensure safe and cost-effective management.
• Maintain overall supervision and responsibility for the accounting records of each operating entity.
• Provide meaningful recommendations and analyses of financial information.
• Prepare and submit monthly financial reporting via Hyperion.
• Analyse monthly cashflows against forecast/budget.
• Manage annual budget and quarterly forecast process and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Review consolidated monthly management accounts and provide commentary.
• Consolidate financial reports and advise on improvements using data from multiple sources.
• Engage with operational departments and head office finance on financial matters.
• Ensure changes controls and internal QA reviews are followed.
• Oversee development and implementation of finance projects.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Finance Manager.

JOB DESCRIPTION

M-Sure is looking for a highly motivated Finance Manager to contribute to and implement our strategy, lead people, improve systems, establish policies, and reduce risk. This role will report directly to the Senior Financial Manager.

DUTIES / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• All financial matters, including budget development, planning & reporting, managing accounts, and financial reporting.
• All operational matters and overseeing activities to ensure safe and cost-effective management
• Maintain overall supervision and responsibility for the completeness and accuracy of the accounting records of each operating entity
• Provide meaningful recommendations, explanations and highlights of concerns or anomalies by analysing and interrogating financial information
• Develop, prepare, and submit accurate financial reporting via Hyperion, monthly in accordance with predetermined deadlines
• Analyse monthly cashflows against forecast/budget
• Manage annual budget and quarterly forecast process, monitor expenses, carry out balance sheet reconciliation review and manage reporting processes
• Review consolidated monthly management accounts and provide commentary
• Consolidate financial reports (quarterly Board Packs, including Risk Register) and make value adding recommendations by using information from various sources
• Analysis fund performance monthly and interact with fund actuaries
• Engage with all operational departments as well as head office finance on financial and other matters
• Evaluate financial processes and implement corrective action to ensure alignment and standardization within the division
• Ensure change controls, internal quality assurance reviews and other internal management processes are followed
• Oversee development and implementation of finance projects. Engage with business, software, and IT
• Provide support to business and finance operations departments
• Review tax returns to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable tax legislation and regulation
• Provide advice and solutions to business tax matters
• Review monthly VAT returns to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable VAT legislation and regulation
• Engage with internal and external auditors

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Relative Business bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  
• Experience with multiple systems that interlink
• Proven experience as a finance manager
• Experience with ERP system migration (preferable)
• Strong operational finance experience
• Strong people management experience
  
• Great Plains and HFM experience advantageous
• Articles experience (preferable)
