Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a motivated Junior Financial Controller in Paarl to support the finance department. The role focuses on financial reporting, general ledger management, and accounts payable/receivable oversight, with close collaboration to the Senior Controller.

You will build a solid foundation in GAAP/IFRS, gain hands-on experience with accounting software and Excel, and contribute to accurate financial records in a dynamic Western Cape environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• SAIPA/SAICA articles are advantageous.
• 1–3 years of accounting or related finance experience.
• Solid understanding of GAAP/IFRS.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of accounting entries.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Support reconciliation of bank statements and balance sheet accounts.
• Assist with audits and documentations, both internal and external.
• Contribute to development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.

About the Role
