Job summary

The Fire Tree Design Company in Riverhorse Valley, Durban, seeks an experienced DTP Operator to join a busy large-format printing and signage team. You will prepare artwork for production, ensuring accuracy for banners, decals, signs and related products.

The ideal candidate has hands-on DTP/pre-press experience, proficiency with CorelDRAW and Adobe Creative Suite, and a keen eye for print-ready artwork, colours, bleeds, and sizing.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a DTP Operator in a printing, signage or large-format production environment.
• Strong working knowledge of CorelDRAW and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator/Photoshop) and both Mac and Windows.
• Excellent understanding of print-ready artwork and pre-press requirements.
• Experience preparing artwork for large-format digital printing, vinyl cutting, signage, banners and decals.
• Ability to set up bleeds, crop marks, colour profiles and correct finish sizes.
• Ability to check client artwork and identify potential production problems before printing.
• Resizing, adapting and correcting artwork for different applications.
• Good understanding of CMYK, Pantone and colour matching.
• Attention to measurements, scaling, spelling and detail.

We are looking for an experienced and reliable DTP Operator to join our busy large-format printing and signage team.

This position is suited to someone who has proven, hands‑on experience in the printing and signage industry and understands how to prepare artwork correctly for production — not simply someone with graphic design experience.

This is an experienced position. Applicants must have previous DTP/pre‑press experience, preferably within the large-format printing and signage industry.

Minimum requirements
