Job summary

Howland Recruiting is aiding a Blackheath (Cape Town) based client to fill two Junior Draughtsperson roles. Applicants should have an ND/ Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a Draughting Diploma and at least 2 years’ SolidWorks experience with sheetmetal, able to visualise 3D.

The successful candidates will work in Cape Town on-site, with duties including bakery layout drawings, BOMs, cutting lists in Excel, and related ISO/admin tasks.

Qualifications

• ND/ Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Draughting Diploma is required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with SolidWorks using sheetmetal.
• Ability to understand and visualise 3D designs.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication.
• Strong admin, planning, organising and controlling skills.
• Able to work without supervision, take initiative and be pro-active.
• Team player with willingness to work overtime.
• Experience with CNC programming is advantageous.
• Experience with report writing is advantageous.
• Knowledge of stainless steel metals is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Bakery layout creation and drawings.
• Bakery pan drawings preparation.
• Create illustrated parts breakdowns.
• Rate plates and equipment manuals.
• Develop SOP manuals and technical notices.
• Create, update or issue cutting lists in Excel.
• Office admin related to updating technical drawings.

• Assist in creating and implementing ISO policies and procedures.
• Prepare reports and presentations for management and production.
• Create and maintain equipment manuals and brochures.
• Create flat patterns and PDFs for production.

Our Blackheath (Cape Town) based client is looking to add 2 x Junior Draughtspersons to their team. The successful candidates will have a National Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a Draughting Diploma with at least 2 years’ experience using SolidWorks. Only candidates who are already in the Western Cape will be considered.
