Job summary

CVQuest is seeking two Junior Draughtspersons for their Blackheath (Cape Town) base. Candidates should hold a ND / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a Draughting Diploma and have at least 2 years’ SolidWorks experience with sheetmetal. Proficiency in English and MS Office is required, with a strong eye for detail and the ability to work without supervision.

Rotating shifts and overtime may apply. CNC and ISO policy experience are advantageous for the role.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience with SolidWorks using sheetmetal.
• Able to understand and visualise 3D.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication.
• Sound admin, planning, organising and controlling skills.
• Able to work without supervision and take initiative.
• Team player and willing to work overtime.
• CNC skills – advantage; report writing – advantage; knowledge of stainless steel – advantage.
• Non EE candidate.

Responsibilities

• Bakery layout.
• Bakery pan drawings.
• Create illustrated parts breakdowns.
• Rate plates and equipment manuals.
• SOP manuals and technical notices.
• Create, update or issue cutting lists in Excel.
• Office admin regarding updating technical drawings.
• CNC laser programming and bending programming.
• Assist in creating and implementing ISO policies and procedures.
• Create and prepare reports and presentations for management and production.
• Create and maintain equipment manuals, brochures, etc.
• Create flat patterns and PDFs for production.

Our Blackheath (Cape Town) based client is looking to add 2 x Junior Draughtspersons to their team. The successful candidates will have a National Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a Draughting Diploma with at least 2 years’ experience using SolidWorks and stainless steel metals. Only candidates who are already in the Western Cape will be considered.
