Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university.
• ECSA-accredited degree; Candidate Engineer registration advantageous.
• 0–3 years' experience in civil engineering, preferably municipal projects.
• Basic knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD) and fundamentals.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; proactive and eager to learn.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to Soweto and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in the design and planning of municipal infrastructure projects such as water reticulation, sewer networks, and stormwater drainage systems.
• Prepare basic engineering drawings, calculations, and documentation under supervision.
• Conduct site inspections and assist in monitoring construction activities for municipal projects.
• Collect and analyze data related to infrastructure performance and condition assessments.
• Support the maintenance and repair programs for existing municipal services.
• Liaise with internal departments, contractors, and community stakeholders as directed by senior staff.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards on construction sites.
• Assist in the preparation of progress reports and site documentation.
