Job summary

Shift Pursuit, a growing consulting engineering firm, seeks a motivated Junior Civil Engineer to join their Bellville team. This role offers hands-on exposure to residential and commercial civil projects and the chance to build a solid technical foundation under an experienced team.

You will assist with design, documentation, and calculations, use AutoCAD and Civil 3D, collaborate with engineers and consultants, and develop problem-solving and communication skills in a consulting environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in Civil Engineering is required (BEng or BSc).
• 0–1 years' experience in civil engineering is expected.
• Exposure to AutoCAD or Civil 3D is advantageous.

Introduction:

Our client, a growing consulting engineering firm, is seeking a motivated Junior Civil Engineer to join their Bellville team. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring civil engineer to gain hands-on experience across a variety of residential and commercial civil engineering projects while developing technical skills alongside an experienced team.

The successful candidate will be involved in civil design projects, gaining exposure to engineering solutions, design processes and project delivery while building a strong foundation for their professional career.

Key Performance Areas:

• Assist with civil engineering design and documentation for residential and commercial projects.
• Support senior engineers with project deliverables and technical tasks.
• Prepare drawings and design information using relevant software.
• Assist with calculations, reports and project documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers, consultants and project teams.
• Gain practical experience across various civil engineering disciplines.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

• BEng, BSc or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering.
• 0-1 years' experience within civil engineering.

Experience:

• Strong interest in civil engineering design and project delivery.
• Exposure to AutoCAD and Civil 3D will be advantageous.
• Ability to apply problem-solving and analytical skills to engineering challenges.
• Willingness to learn, develop and gain practical industry experience.
