Job summary

Assegai Recruitment seeks a qualified Civil Engineer to join its civil infrastructure team in Johannesburg. The role targets engineers with about 5+ years of design experience in roads, bulk earthworks, stormwater and water/sewer networks, delivering detailed designs and liaising with clients.

You will work across South Africa and Africa, collaborating with multidisciplinary offices and using AutoCAD Civil 3D. ECSA registration progression expected.

Qualifications

• BSc or BTech in Civil Engineering.
• Approximately 5 years or more relevant civil engineering design experience.
• Experience in detailed design of roads, bulk earthworks, stormwater, water and sewer networks.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Familiarity with civil design codes and construction specifications.
• Progressing towards ECSA registration (PrEng or PrTechEng).
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
• Knowledge of IDAS is advantageous.

A well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking for a qualified Civil Engineer to join its growing civil infrastructure team in Johannesburg.

The role will suit an engineer with approximately 5+ years' civil infrastructure design experience within the built environment, particularly involving roads, bulk earthworks, stormwater, water and sewer infrastructure.

You will work on infrastructure projects across South Africa and elsewhere in Africa, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across multiple offices.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects, from detailed design and drafting through to client liaison and project/site meetings.

This position requires strong practical design capability, particularly using AutoCAD Civil 3D, together with a sound understanding of applicable civil engineering design codes and construction specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrated experience in the detailed design of:
  • Roads
  • Bulk earthworks
  • Stormwater infrastructure
  • Water networks
  • Sewer networks
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Familiarity with current civil engineering design codes and construction series specifications.
• Must be progressing towards professional registration with ECSA as a PrEng or PrTech Eng.
• Valid driver's licence and own vehicle
• Working knowledge of the Infrastructure Design Automation Suite (iDAS) - advantageous.
