Placements24 seeks a Junior Chemical Engineer to join the Mossel Bay process design team. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in process simulation, P&ID development, and equipment specification under senior engineers. You will contribute to the design of new chemical processes and learn within a supportive team.

The ideal candidate is a recent graduate with strong analytical skills, eager to learn, and capable of collaborating effectively on projects in Mossel Bay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Strong understanding of fundamental chemical engineering principles.
• Familiarity with process simulation software (Aspen HYSYS) is a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel for data analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions carefully.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in the design and development of chemical process systems.
• Perform basic process calculations, including mass and energy balances.
• Create and update Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) using CAD software.
• Support the specification and selection of process equipment.
• Participate in safety reviews and assist in documenting process hazards.
• Compile data for process studies and technical reports.
