Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Mossel Bay team. You will gain hands-on experience in product development, CAD design, and testing under the guidance of senior engineers.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant diploma, has basic CAD skills (AutoCAD, SolidWorks), and demonstrates good communication, teamwork, and a strong willingness to learn and grow within a supportive engineering department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent diploma.
• Basic CAD knowledge (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
• Strong fundamentals in mechanical design and eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software.
• 1
• Support senior engineers in calculations and simulations for design validation.
• Help create and update technical documentation, including drawings and specifications.
• Participate in prototype building and testing activities.
• Learn and apply relevant engineering standards and best practices in daily tasks.
• Collaborate with team members on design reviews and problem-solving sessions.
