Job summary

Enablesa (Pty) Ltd invites applications for a Junior Chef in Grahamstown to work closely with an experienced Head Chef. The role offers hands-on kitchen experience in a fast-paced catering environment and requires a passion for quality food.

You will assist with daily food prep, stock control, and ensuring hygiene standards, while supporting catering events and deliveries. Flexibility for weekends/public holidays is expected.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 is essential.
• A chef qualification or culinary certificate is advantageous.
• 1–3 years in a commercial kitchen or hospitality environment.
• Solid knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef with daily food preparation and production.
• Prepare and cook meals according to menus, recipes, and quality standards.
• Ensure food is presented attractively and consistently.
• Assist with stock control, stock rotation, and inventory management.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen safety.
• Support catering functions, events, and special occasions as required.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations.
