Placements24 in Stellenbosch seeks a Junior Catering Assistant to support our catering operations. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in event preparation, service, and cleanup, under expert guidance, with flexible hours for evenings, weekends and holidays.

You will help with food prep, table service, and stock rotation, while learning hygiene standards and customer service. A positive attitude and teamwork are valued; training is provided and there are opportunities for growth

Qualifications

Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Ability to follow instructions accurately.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety principles is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and presentation of food and beverages according to established recipes and standards.
Set up event spaces, including arranging tables, chairs and serving stations.
Provide efficient and friendly table service during events.
Assist with clearing tables, breakdown of service areas and general clean-up duties post-event.
Support the catering team with inventory management and stock rotation.
