Enablesa (Pty) Ltd invites a highly organised Function Coordinator to join our Grahamstown team. The role blends event coordination with hands-on kitchen and operational activities to ensure flawless catering experiences.

You will prices quotes, coordinate bookings, and liaise with clients while also assisting with food preparation, stock control, and on-site setup. This role requires strong communication, team spirit, and a readiness to work weekends when needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in a commercial kitchen, catering environment, restaurant, or hospitality operation.
• Sound understanding of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage functions, events, and catering bookings from enquiry to execution.
• Liaise with clients to understand event requirements, budgets, and expectations.
• Prepare quotations, function sheets, event schedules, and booking documentation.
• Ensure all events are costed accordingly.
• Coordinate with kitchen and service teams to ensure seamless event delivery.
• Assist with food preparation and kitchen operations as required.
• Monitor stock levels, conduct stock counts, and assist with inventory control.
• Receive, check, and manage stock deliveries.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
• Conduct site visits and assist with event setup, set down, cleaning and logistical planning.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while delivering exceptional customer service.
• Ensure the function costs remain under budget.
• Ensure HSE procedures are carried out and HSE documentation is complete.
