Job summary

Zohorecruit is seeking a motivated Junior Chef for a Grahamstown-based catering company. You will work closely with a Head Chef, gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced kitchen and helping with daily prep and production to deliver quality meals.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in a commercial kitchen, a culinary qualification or hospitality training, and a strong work ethic. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays, plus good teamwork and food hygiene standards, are essential.

Qualifications

• Chef qualification, culinary certificate, or relevant hospitality training advantageous.
• 1-3 years' experience in a commercial kitchen, catering environment, restaurant, or hospitality operation.
• Sound understanding of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering quality food.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when required.
