Job summary

Boardroom Appointments in Midrand, South Africa is seeking a Junior Application Support Engineer to join our team. You will participate in the full lifecycle of support issues, perform initial investigations, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver fixes.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Linux and Oracle databases.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the complete life cycle of support issues from logging to delivery of fixes.
• Provide specialised investigation to ensure data integrity of provisioning applications and billing systems.
• Assist with coordinating and recreating production issues on testing and QA environments.
• Assist with coordinating and running SQL queries against Oracle databases to extract and analyse data.
• Understand clients business processes, procedures and requirements.
• Advise and assist with configuration amendments to client systems using Linux and Oracle.
• Advise and assist with solutions for temporary workarounds.
• Verification and deployment of software release items for production implementation.
• Answer customer and internal technical system related queries.
• Review and improve operational requirements relating to the systems business processes.
• Advise and train analyst/support teams with system investigations and support processes.
• Familiarize and advise on the technical support requirements for major events.
• Perform the above on a shift basis.
• Participate in the support team standby schedule.
• Change Management.
• Ensure all incidents and support requests are addressed within the set SLA and OLA levels.
• Assist with Month End activities and reporting.
