Job summary

PBT Group seeks a Senior Level 1 Application Support / DBA Engineer to join our data services team. You will provide Level 1/2 support, monitor health, investigate incidents, and ensure platform resilience in enterprise environments.

You will work with Java apps, PostgreSQL databases, Linux systems, and DevOps practices, contributing to deployment readiness and monitoring improvements. The role offers a hybrid onsite model and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in application or infrastructure support in production environments.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience supporting enterprise applications.
• Exposure to PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability platforms such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.
• Familiarity with high‑availability, failover, and replication environments.
• Scripting experience in Bash and Python.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, HTTPS).
• Experience with Jira or similar operational workflows.
• Nice to Have: Exposure to Kafka, distributed systems, or Keycloak.
• CI/CD pipeline experience, Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift familiarity.
• Background in financial services or insurance industries.
• Relevant certifications in PostgreSQL, Linux, or cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 application support across enterprise platforms and services

• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents within agreed SLAs
• Support Java‑based enterprise applications in production environments
• Assist with application deployments, environment validations, and operational readiness activities
• Support PostgreSQL database environments, including replication monitoring and connectivity troubleshooting
• Collaborate with infrastructure services, including load balancers and monitoring platforms
• Develop and maintain operational scripts using Bash and Python
• Contribute to continuous improvement of monitoring, alerting, and operational support processes
• Work closely with development, infrastructure, DBA, and DevOps teams to maintain platform resilience
