We Are Hiring | Junior Accountant & Systems Administrator | Full time (Hybrid)

Rosetta is a specialty coffee business based in Cape Town, founded in 2010. We roast and sell wholesale and retail, as well as supply our own cafes around the city. Our finance function is small and hands-on, which means the right person gets real responsibility and genuine influence from day one.

The role

We're looking for a junior accounting graduate who is as comfortable in a spreadsheet as they are interested in systems optimisation. This isn't a traditional bookkeeping role - we want someone who looks at a repetitive manual process and immediately asks how to improve or automate it.

Reporting to our Finance Manager, you'll take ownership of many day-to-day accounting operations: the recons, the invoicing, the supplier management, the compliance admin. We're interested in continual improvement across our accounting processes and software stack, and want someone who wants to help drive that.

Crucially, we're looking for great people. People who are motivated, curious and self-aware, and who take initiative.

What you'll own: some examples

• Bank reconciliations
• Accounts payable and receivable management
• Supplier invoice processing and allocation
• Customer statements and debtor follow-ups
• Petty cash management and café invoice creation/reconciliation
• Maintaining and improving Xero: contacts, custom reports, bank feeds, rules
• Optimising Dext rules and CIN7 workflows
• Supporting SOP documentation across all key finance processes
• Identifying automation and integration opportunities across our cloud accounting stack

What we're looking for: skills and traits

• Qualified BCom Accounting or similar
• 1+ years' experience in cloud accounting
• Someone working towards (or holding) a professional accounting qualification such as CIMA or SAIPA - this is not a requirement, but a plus
• High spreadsheet competence
• Genuine enthusiasm for cloud accounting tools. Comfortable with the idea of integrations, automation, and building better workflows
• A systems-minded approach: you notice inefficiencies and want to fix them
• Detail-oriented but not slow. This is a fast-moving, multi-business-unit environment
• Strong communication skills - written & verbal - for interaction with customers, suppliers as well as diverse group of colleagues
• A do-er who takes initiative, who takes ownership and is a quick learner
• A good team player with self-awareness and a well developed EQ
• Cape Town-based (Hybrid role)
• Experience with Xero, CIN7, Dext
• Any exposure to accounting integrations or automation tools
• Interest in the specialty coffee and/or the hospitality sector

• Work directly under a qualified CA and grow quickly
