Job summary

Cape Crowd is hiring a Financial Accountant to own the finance function. This hands-on role covers reconciliations through to annual financial statements, with autonomy and minimal oversight.

Full-time, fully remote, with a weekly in-person check-in in Cape Town (Seapoint). You’ll manage supplier reconciliations, payroll end-to-end, balance sheets and P&L, and VAT/PAYE/UIF compliance, plus annual financial statements with auditors and tax advisors.

Qualifications

• Solid bookkeeping or accounting experience, able to operate with minimal supervision.
• Experience with supplier reconciliations, loading and authorising.
• Confident running payroll end to end and processing loans.
• Strong grip on balance sheet and P&L preparation, gross profit monitoring and overhead reporting.
• Solid working knowledge of VAT, PAYE and UIF.
• Experience preparing Annual Financial Statements (AFS) and liaising with auditors/tax advisors.
• Self-directed, dependable and comfortable working remotely with minimal oversight.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for someone to take full ownership of our finance function and replace our existing accounting firm. This is a hands-on, full-function role; you’ll own everything from day-to-day reconciliations through to annual financial statements, with real autonomy and minimal oversight. Full-time, fully remote, with one in-person check-in meeting weekly in Cape Town (Seapoint).

IS IT FOR ME?
