Job summary

The HR Company is assisting a client in seeking a personable and detail-oriented Junior Accountant / Bookkeeper to join their finance team. This role is responsible for managing the accounting function across multiple entities and requires strong technical skills, excellent organisation and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders outside of finance.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ bookkeeping or accounting experience, advanced Excel skills and strong analytical

Responsibilities

• Process and maintain accurate day-to-day financial transactions.
• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
• Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
• Prepare VAT returns and support statutory compliance requirements.
• Prepare financial reports for management.
• Assist with internal and external audit requirements.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders across multiple business entities.

This role is responsible for managing the accounting function across multiple entities. The successful candidate will be technically strong, highly organised, and able to build positive working relationships across the business, as the role requires regular interaction with stakeholders outside of the finance department.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and maintain accurate day-to-day financial transactions

Minimum Requirements

• BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Minimum 5 years' bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience with reconciliations and month-end processes
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
